Mini Grants for Faculty & Staff

Supporting Equipment Purchases, Special Projects, and Professional Development opportunities

The Education Fund provides mini grants to the faculty and staff of North Seattle College through a competitive, quarterly process. Mini grants are awarded up to $1,000 each, with only $5,000 available each quarter. Applications are available online and are due to the Education Fund by the fourth Monday of each academic quarter. Funds must be used within six months of award. Please note that mini grant funds may not be used for food services/refreshments or membership fees.

Mini grants are awarded to support professional development, equipment, and special projects which may not be covered by department budgets. Preference is given to new, innovative projects and to first-time applicants, though all applications will be considered for award.

The applications for mini grants are reviewed each quarter by the Executive Team, and their recommendations are forwarded to the Education Fund Scholarship & Grants Committee for funding decisions. It takes four to six weeks after the application deadline for award decisions to be made; if your travel/activity/event takes place within that time frame, your application may be deemed ineligible. Please plan ahead when submitting a mini grant application – no retroactive awards or reimbursements will be granted.

When describing your project or idea, describe how North's Core Themes (excelling in teaching and learning, building sustainable communities, and advancing student success) will be addressed. Please also describe how your project relates to North’s mission of changing lives through education.
