Faculty Professional Development
Supporting opportunities for faculty
In partnership with the Office of Instruction, the Education Fund operates an endowment designated for Professional Development for Faculty at North Seattle College. This fund was created during the Seattle Colleges’ district-wide Building the Best campaign in 1994.
The purpose of this endowment is to provide funds for faculty development opportunities. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Attendance at national or regional conferences
- Projects that support Instruction, such as:
- Undergraduate research
- Career pathways
- College readiness
- Leadership development
- Assessment of student learning
- Invitation to national experts to present on campus
- Faculty Learning Communities
Interested faculty will need to complete an Education Fund Faculty Professional Development Application. The application must be approved by the division Dean and submitted to the Vice President for Instruction.
Applications must be completed and approved before the professional development activity or event has occurred; no retroactive awards will be given. The Vice President for Instruction will select the projects/faculty to be funded with input from division Dean, if applicable. Awards are granted for up to $1,000, per applicant, per academic year.
Please contact your Dean or the Office of Instruction with any questions.
